Learner Drivers Urged To Take Covid Test
New government guidance is advising learner drivers to take a Covid-19 test before attempting their driving test. According to official advice, learners should take a rapid lateral flow test twice a week; including before, and after, their practical driving tests.
The advice comes as driving tests formally resumed on April 22nd. Ultimately, however, the tests aren’t mandatory. No learner will be prevented from taking the test should they fail to take a lateral flow test. According to the advice, if a learner tests positive they should then take a PCR test.
Changing Driving Test Dates
It’s crucial to note that, in the event that a learner tests positive or needs to self-isolate, they can rearrange their test free of charge; so there’s no need to worry about having to fork out another fee.
Learner drivers can rearrange the date of their test online – via the .gov website. They can also email the Driver and Licencing Standards Authority (DVSA). They’ll need to use the title ‘Lateral flow rebooking’ and include two of the following…
– A driving license number
– A theory test pass certificate
– A driving test booking reference number
