A brand new cost-saving ferry service means that drivers can travel from Dover to Calais for just £69. Perfect for a mini-break…
An Affordable Ferry Service
After mass-vaccination programmes and extensive lockdown restrictions, life may very well be returning to normal in the near future. As a result, more and more Brits will be looking to holiday further afield than their nearest caravan park. Fortunately, a new ferry service makes driving to Europe a straightforward and relatively affordable affair.
Irish Ferries has launched a new route from Dover to Calais, which costs just £69 for each car; including up to nine passengers. The service launches on June 29th, and is looking to capitalise on Brits looking to escape to Europe now that Covid restrictions are being relaxed. The assigned ship, the refurbished Isle of Inishmore, will be covering the route. It boasts the likes of a bar, café and 360-degree views.
A Short Trip
The new ferry route takes 90 minutes (longer than the 35 minutes offered by the Channel Tunnel). The company has also stressed that on-board social distancing is effective and straightforward. In addition, it claims the service makes travelling much easier and more flexible; allowing travellers to load up their cars as much as they like and take their pets along with them.
Finally, customers will have access to free on-board WiFi and duty-free shopping. Making the route a comfortable and accessible way of finally escaping the house after over a year of lockdown restrictions.
